Feb. 11, 2010: Sector 2.0 Release! We have reached a major milestone with the release of version 2.0. Version 2 reorganized the software code structure so that it is easier to deploy and expand (e.g., different security and metadata management modules can be supported). We also included several new features to improve performance, including support of in-memory objects.

Nov. 21, 2009: Sector and UDT supports one of the SC09 Bandwidth Challenge winning entries The NCDM/NRL/iCAIR team was one the three teams that won the SC09 Bandwidth Challenge. Sector/Sphere was used to support high performance distributed data processing over multiple data centers, while UDT was used to support high speed data transfer.

Nov. 3, 2009: UDT increases data transfer throughput to EC2 Some of our customers have started to use UDT to transfer data to and from Amazon EC2 instances. The data transfer throughput has been improved by a factor up to 15 times.

Sep. 9, 2009: VeryCloud is founded.As the developers of UDT and Sector/Sphere, we start to provide dedicated commercial services to these software systems, while keeping an eye on other related products at the same time.
